About Eric Heikkinen

Eric Heikkinen is a web multimedia designer and marketing manager with a background in video, fine arts, web design and web marketing. He co-founded the Pligg content management system (Pligg LLC) over two years ago and built a community of over 21,000 users since then. Pligg has been installed about 10,000 times each month and continues to grow as one of the most popular social content management systems.
Eric began his work in producing web content when he founded Yankidank.com, a video game news website, in 2004. At that time podcasting was a new concept which few people were making use of. Taking advantage of this new technology, Eric began a video game news and review podcast show which generated a lot of buzz and attracted a large audience of subscribers who tuned in weekly. He quickly became a reputable video game news author and occasionally gave interviews to television reporters on topics including video game violence and podcasting. The audio shows for Yankidank.com were typically an hour long and occasionally would be in video format. Eric sold the site just prior to starting the Pligg project in late 2005.
While attending school at Savannah College of Art and Design, Eric studied film post production through the schools Film and Television department. The school features a wealth of post production equipment and is better equipped than many post production houses used for feature film and television editing.
